Maleny Lodge is a beautiful heritage house built in 1905, located in the heart of Maleny. After offering guests accommodation for the last 80 years, Maleny Lodge was in desperate need of repair and refurbishment. We entirely redesigned, rebranded and refurbished the building, mindfully bringing a new lease of life to the house whilst retaining its charm and original features.
The Challenge
A century-old heritage home in the Sunshine Coast hinterland had been offering accommodation for 80 years but was in a state of disrepair — tired interiors, a derelict pool, and no coherent identity left it unable to compete despite its exceptional character and location.
Our Approach
Working carefully to preserve original architectural details — pressed metal ceilings, timber floors and Victorian verandahs — the project introduced luxury finishes, modern comforts and a beautifully curated collection of vintage furniture. A heated magnesium pool, manicured gardens and fire pit area were added to the grounds.
The Outcome
Maleny Lodge is now full of luxury finishes and a beautifully curated collection of vintage furniture and trinkets. Rated among the top hinterland retreats in Queensland, it attracted national press and sold for double its pre-renovation value within 14 months of trading.
